Vincent de Paul (1581-1660)
If Vincent de Paul were still alive, he would be more than 400 years of age. So he isn’t! But his name and his work lives on, all over Australia, as well as all over the world in the Vincent de Paul Society. That’s because he was one of the kindest men to have ever lived. But he was also as tough as old boots. You can’t survive being kidnapped by pirates and spending two years in slavery without being tough. Vincent could mix with kings and commoners, good people and criminals, and treat them all as equal.
